Tree Service in Odessa, FL

Acreage, horse property and lakefront oaks, out where the lots are measured in acres.

Odessa is the far northwest corner of where we work, out past Lutz and Citrus Park, and it is a different kind of tree work from the rest of our area. Lots here are measured in acres rather than feet. Properties are wooded, many are on well and septic, and there are lakes everywhere.

It is also split down the middle by the county line, which matters more than people expect.

Room to work, and what it saves you

On an acre or more with clear access we can often fell a tree in one or two pieces instead of dismantling it from a bucket. That is a real difference in labor and it shows up in the quote. The same tree that would be a full day of rigging in a South Tampa side yard can be a morning out here. Tell us about the access when you call and we will factor it in.

Lakefront trees with no way in for a truck

Lake Keystone, Church Lake and the smaller lakes through the area all have properties with big live oaks leaning out over the water on soft, sandy ground. There is usually no way to get equipment down to them, so those are climbed and rigged by hand, with the limbs coming down over the yard rather than into the lake. It is slower work and we price it honestly rather than quoting a driveway number and adding to it later.

Wells, septic and where a grinder can go

This is the one that catches people out here. Most Odessa properties are on a private well and a septic system, and a stump grinder cuts eight to twelve inches below grade, which is exactly the depth a drain field lives at. The state locate service marks public utilities only. Your well line, your drain field and your landscape lighting are private and nobody will flag them but you, so we walk the area with you before the machine starts.

One ZIP code, two counties

33556 straddles the Hillsborough and Pasco county line, and the tree removal rules are not identical on either side. Several communities here also sit under deed restrictions that go further than either county. We check which applies to your parcel as part of the estimate rather than finding out afterwards.

Fence lines and pasture edges

A good share of what we do out here is not ornamental. Clearing scrub off a fence line, opening up a pasture edge, taking down the dead pine that keeps dropping limbs into a paddock. That gets quoted by the job on site rather than by the tree.

Tree service in Odessa: common questions

Do you really come out to Odessa?
Yes. It is the outer edge of our regular area and we serve it at our normal rates. If you are flexible on the day it helps, since we try to schedule a couple of jobs out that way together.
My property is on a well and septic. Is that a problem for stump grinding?
Not a problem, just something we plan around. Walk the area with us and point out the well head and the drain field before we start, because those are private lines that no locate service marks.
Can you handle a tree with no vehicle access at all?
Yes. Climbing and rigging by hand is standard for lakefront and back-acreage trees out here. It takes longer and the quote reflects that honestly.
