Trinity is newer than most of where we work. It went up from the late 1990s onward on former ranch and timber land, which means the trees here fall into two clean categories: what the builders planted around the houses, and what was left standing at the edges when the subdivisions were cut in.
The second category is where most of the interesting work is, because those edges are usually somebody's back fence line now.
Where your lot ends and the preserve begins
This is the question we get asked most in Trinity. Pasco County required conservation and drainage areas to be set aside when these communities were platted, and a great many back yards run straight up to one. Trees inside a designated conservation area are restricted regardless of who holds the deed, and the eastern side of Trinity backs onto genuinely large preserve land. We will tell you which side of the line your tree is on before we quote it, rather than after.
Sandy upland ground
Trinity sits higher and sandier than the flatwoods to the east, which drains beautifully and holds a root plate less firmly than heavier soil. Trees here can go over in saturated ground and high wind having never moved before. After a run of heavy summer rain, a tree that has developed a new lean, particularly with cracked or heaved soil on the uphill side, is not one to wait out.
Scheduling around a community landscape contract
Several Trinity communities, Heritage Springs among them, run their own grounds contracts covering common areas and sometimes the front of individual lots. That contractor is usually not a tree service and will not touch anything of size. Knowing where their scope stops and ours starts saves a lot of back-and-forth, so tell us what your association already covers when you call.
Pasco County, not Pinellas
Trinity sits close enough to the county line that people routinely assume the wrong rules apply. It is Pasco, so the county's tree provisions govern rather than Pinellas or Hillsborough, and most communities here carry deed restrictions on top that go further than the county does. We check which applies to your parcel as part of the estimate.
